Heritage Museum and Gardens Plantation - Sandwich, MA

After a buffet lunch at The quaint Daniel Webster Inn in Sandwich, our tour will visit the beautiful Heritage Plantation which consists of one hundred spectacular acres of labeled trees and shrubs, beautiful flowers and sweeping lawns. The gardens are a delight any time of year. Spring features showy Dexter Rhododendrons and flowering trees. The beautifully landscaped grounds are a naturalized woodland park on the edge of upper Shawme Pond.

Heritage Museums & Gardens also has three museums featuring early American Art. A Shaker-style round barn houses the J. K. Lilly III Antique Automobile Collection with its stunning display of antique automobiles dating from 1899. The American History Museum hosts an impressive collection of military miniatures, antique firearms, and the distinguished bird carvings of master carvers A. Elmer and Cleon Crowell. An operating 1921 hand-carved carousel and many of America's most distinguished artists' works are on exhibit in the Art Museum.
