| Day 1: Arrive Fredericksburg, VA | After a pleasant day’s drive, we arrive in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where our accommodations for the evening will be provided at the Quality Inn. After a chance to freshen up, we rejoin our group for dinner. (D) |
| Day 2: Charleston, SC | This morning, you’ll travel through the states of Virginia and North Carolina before arriving at one of the South’s most historic seaports-Charleston, South Carolina. Tonight, you’ll reside at the Holiday Inn. This evening, you’ll dine in a local popular restaurant. (CB, D) |
| Day 3: Charleston Touring/Boone Hall Plantation | Charleston, considered one of the charming spots of the South, is the focal point of your specially guided tour this morning. Traveling along cobblestone streets, you’ll view historic homes, restored public buildings, as well as the famed Battery which overlooks Fort Sumter, the site where the Civil War began. The Old Marketplace is next for lunch and shopping before visiting Boone Hall Plantation, America’s most photographed plantation. Later, travel to the historic port city of Savannah where accommodations are provided for two nights at the quaint Inn at Ellis Square, ideally located next to the Old City Market. This evening, dinner is included at Paula Deen’s Lady & Sons Restaurant. (CB, D) |
| Day 4: Savannah Touring | After breakfast this morning, enjoy a guided tour of this lovely city which has the largest restored urban historical district in America, as well as 1,100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Next, you’ll visit the Owens-Thomas House, considered one of the finest examples of English architecture in the United States. Later, you’ll have free time to explore Savannah’s waterfront shopping area where 19th Century warehouses have been converted into craft shops, unique boutiques and eateries. An optional dinner is provided at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House (based on availability and not included in tour cost - approx. $20 per person.) (CB) |
| Day 5: Richmond, VA | This morning, we motor south to historic Richmond, Virginia’s historic capital designed by Thomas Jefferson. Accommodations are provided at the Sheraton Park South where dinner is provided. (CB, D) |
| Day 6: Lewis Ginter Gardens/Historic Philadelphia | Today, visit Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and discover 25 acres of brilliantly colored floral displays. Later, travel to historic Philadelphia where accommodations are provided at Holiday Inn, located in the historic district. Dinner is provided at a popular local restaurant. (B, D) |
| Day 7: Philadelphia Tour/ Constitution Center | A knowledgeable guide in Colonial dress will show us such landmarks as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and more. Next, visit the National Constitution Center, where you’ll view an inspiring multi-media presentation. Later, depart for home with fond memories of the Old South. (B) |
